Dr. Kenneth Brown, MD

Board-Certified Gastroenterologist | Clinical Researcher | Co-Host, Gut Check Project |
Founder, KBS Research

Dr. Kenneth Brown is a board-certified gastroenterologist, clinical researcher, educator, and entrepreneur whose work forms the scientific foundation of KBS Research.

For more than two decades, Dr. Brown has cared for patients in Texas while investigating the biological mechanisms that contribute to digestive disorders, including bloating, reflux, methane associated dysbiosis, and disorders of gastrointestinal motility. His clinical observations and research became the foundation for KBS Research and its portfolio of clinically studied polyphenol formulations.

Dr. Brown earned his medical degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Nebraska Medical Center and completed both his residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.

He serves as Director of Clinical Research at Digestive Health Associates of Texas, where he has been principal investigator on numerous gastrointestinal clinical studies and has worked extensively in the evaluation of both pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical interventions for digestive health.

Driven by a belief that symptoms are best understood through their underlying biological mechanisms, Dr. Brown has spent much of his career exploring the intersection of gastroenterology, microbiome science, and polyphenol research. This work led to the development of Atrantil, Atrantil Pro and Re:flux, all created through the KBS Research framework of mechanism identification, formulation science, and human validation. In addition to his clinical and research work, Dr. Brown is the co-host of the Gut Check Project podcast, where he discusses digestive health, microbiome science, emerging research, and the future of evidence-based gut health solutions.

His expertise has been featured in national media, podcasts, publications, and health-focused outlets, helping translate complex gastrointestinal science into practical education for both healthcare professionals and consumers.

His research interests include methane-associated dysbiosis, gastrointestinal motility, upper gastrointestinal function, microbiome science, and the clinical application of polyphenols.
